The 2010 Family Medicine Summit - supported in part by Northern and
Southern California Kaiser Permanente Community Benefit, Pfizer, and the CAFP
Foundation - focused on innovations in the family medicine education and
training curriculum.Along with
community partners, CAFP hosted the event in order to create a unique learning environment
consisting of California's family medicine residency program directors, family
medicine department chairs, chief residents, student representatives, and
leaders in family medicine.Expert faculty and leaders in medical
education focused their sessions on ways to prepare tomorrow's family
physicians for leadership; current strategies, methods, and technology in
practice as they relate to the medical home; and new opportunities for family
medicine residents and family physicians to achieve fulfilling practices in
family medicine.
More than 115 attendees joined us for a one-and-a-half-day meeting to
network with their peers, learn from the experts, and explore new challenges
and opportunities facing the specialty.
