The 2016 Family Medicine Summit schedule is FINAL and registration is open! The Summit is Saturday, September 10, 8:00 am-5:00 pm, at the Hilton Hotel, Los Angeles Airport.
The day begins with a keynote address by Carol Havens, MD. Dr. Havens, a nationally-recognized speaker, is a CAFP past president and is the Director of Physician Education and Development for The Permanente Medical Group, Northern CA. She will lead a lively discussion on Generational Differences: What they mean for learning, education, communication, leadership and caring for patients. Next up, a panel on social determinants of health, featuring CAFP’s Michelle Quiogue, MD and Michael Rodriguez, MD, MPH and Ignatius Bau, JD. All three have incredible expertise to share. Our program also includes sessions on telemedicine and mobile health; getting ready to apply for residency; cultural competency; a speed dating session on “A Day in the Life” to share stories of active practice for residents; Incorporating ACE Scores into your history and physical; and preparing for the residency interview. We have included a two-hour leadership-communications workshop which guarantees fun and illuminating discussion.
The day ends with the ever popular Residency Fair and a chance to visit more than 40 California programs. Don’t miss the Summit — registration is open and you can register on-site Saturday morning. See you in LA!
